2017 High Patch Chardonnay

This Chardonnay comes from the ‘High Patches’ of vineyard in Rowland Flat, Barossa Valley. White wines flourished under the 2017 vintage with the cool conditions perfect for retaining the lovely fruit characters and crisp balancing acidity. This modern style of Chardonnay has ample melon fruit, cashew nuts and a distinct flinty aroma. It is medium bodied with the focus on white peach, pears, some grapefruit and lemon pith. There is good complexity with the spicy French oak and a rich creamy texture. The wine finishes with good length of peach characters and nutty notes. The wine drinks well now or will reward cellaring for a few more years.
